On May 23, 2025, the 24th International Oratory Competition "Chinese Language - Bridge of Friendship" among students of Kyrgyzstan was held within the walls of the Bishkek State University named after Academician K. Karasaev. The organizers of the competition, according to long-standing tradition, were the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Confucius Institute at BSU named after K. Karasaev.

Kyrgyzstan and China are important strategic partners, including in the framework of joint promotion of the One Belt, One Road initiative. Such events contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and the implementation of this initiative.

Students from four Confucius Institutes of the Republic decided to test their knowledge of the Chinese language, demonstrate their understanding of the culture and traditions of China, and also demonstrate their erudition and creativity. This year, 13 students from Osh, Jalal-Abad regions and the city of Bishkek took part in the competition.

The competition was held in two stages. In the first stage, the participants demonstrated their knowledge of the Chinese language: they gave presentations on the culture of China, its traditions, national cuisine and attractions. Then the participants were asked questions about the history and culture of China, which allowed them to assess the depth of their knowledge and level of preparation.

In the second, creative round, the contestants presented vibrant artistic numbers dedicated to traditional forms of Chinese art – dance, song and other forms of self-expression.

Following the results of the competition, the winners received the right to represent Kyrgyzstan at the international stage of the competition in China - all travel expenses will be covered by the organizers.
