Department of Geography, Tourism and Natural Sciences

The Department of Geography, Tourism and Natural Sciences was organized by the decision of the Academic Council of BSU on June 11, 2003. The creation of a new department at the Faculty of Ecology and Management was a necessity, as all disciplines of general and specialized nature were concentrated in the former Department of Ecology and Natural Sciences, thus it became too cumbersome and immobile. In addition, this reorganization of the former Department of Ecology and Natural Sciences was dictated by the times - the craze of student enrollment at the university and the opening of new specialties.

The history of the department dates back to 1996, when BSU established a structurally independent Department of Ecology and Natural Sciences, which served all faculties of the university according to the curricula.

Mathematics, informatics, concepts of modern natural science, ecology, biology, chemistry, physics, social ecology, geography of the study region, basics of medical knowledge, geography of Kyrgyzstan and elective courses. Natural Block:

In 2015, on the basis of our department opened a new specialty "tourism, code 600200" (contract training, the term of study four years).

The Department of Geography, Tourism and Natural Sciences is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Ecology and Management. The department consists of 1 professor, 4 associate professors, 6 senior lecturers, 3 lecturers and one senior laboratory assistant.

The faculty of the department conducts lecture and practical classes on the main disciplines at the university and at the faculty. Modern methods of teaching with the use of computer technologies are used in conducting classes.

The department conducts research work on the theme "Study of natural and social phenomena of the Tien Shan" the purpose of which is a comprehensive study of the mountainous territory of Kyrgyzstan.
