Department of General and Russian Linguistics

The Department of General and Russian Linguistics is one of the oldest and leading departments of Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev.

It was founded in the distant 70s of the last century. The basis of the Department was a brilliant assemblage of outstanding figures, such as A.I. Vasiliev, F.A. Krasnov, V.K. Yantsen, S.A. Kunduzakova, T.M. Shin, T.A. Zayakina, L.S. Goloborodko. The eminent scientists-philologists - Sydykov A.N., Kuttubaeva G.A., Elebesova S.A., Kambaralieva U.J. and others work at the Department.

За 1979-2023г.г. на кафедре прошло обучение не одно поколение студентов-филологов. Выпускники кафедры — учителя русского языка и литературы, филологи, лингвисты, переводчики, успешно работают в разных уголках нашей республики и зарубежья.
Преподаватели кафедры занимаются подготовкой не только бакалавров, но и осуществляют магистерскую подготовку по направлениям:
• «Филологическое образование» (Русский язык и литература)
• «Лингвистика» (Русский как иностранный, Теория и методика преподавания языков, Перевод и переводоведение)
• «Филология» (Теория и методика преподавания филологических дисциплин).
The professorial and teaching staff of the Department supervises the applicants studying in the Postgraduate and Doctoral programs.
The Department still maintains a high scientific potential. The Department has prepared 6 doctors and 30 candidates of sciences, who have written Dissertations on actual topics of Russian, comparative and general linguistics, published more than 30 monographs, 70 teaching materials, and published more than 700 scientific articles.
