The Department of Kyrgyz Literature is one of the leading departments of the faculty. The Department of "Kyrgyz Literature" was established in 1992 as a department of training specialists of high level, fully complying with educational standards. The department provides training of students and masters in the programs of higher professional education.

The main goal of the department is to provide quality teaching of the theory and history of literature, to increase the scientific-theoretical, scientific-pedagogical potential of teachers, to increase their pedagogical experience, to strengthen the material and technical base of the department in carrying out scientific-methodological and research activities.

Mission of the Department:

Training of highly qualified specialists, who deeply know the culture, literature, language, history and morals of their country, who respect and love their homeland, educating people capable of mastering modern technologies.

• "Philological education” is about preparing effective and knowledgeable, professional educators by developing an understanding of language, literature and culture, critical thinking and teaching expertise.

The faculty of the department consists of highly qualified and experienced teachers with academic degrees.

Every year the department defends candidate and qualifying dissertations on topical issues of literary criticism and methodology.
