Faculty of Kyrgyz philology

In 1997, the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology became the Faculty of Turkology and began its activities in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of BHU. In addition to training teachers of Kyrgyz language and literature, the faculty is the first among higher educational institutions of the country to carry out in-depth training of Turkish languages, preparing philologists-translators and specialists in Turkish language. In May 2004, by the decision of the Academic Council of BHU, it was transformed into the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology, training highly qualified specialists in the following areas:

Bachelor's degree:

  • Philological education (Kyrgyz language and literature) (term of study - 4 years) (grant, contract)
  • Philology (Kyrgyz) - (term of study - 4 years)
  • Philology (Turkish language) (term of study - 4 years)

Specialty:

  • Teaching the state language in non-Kyrgyz educational institutions (term of study - 5 years)

Master's Degree

  • Philological education (Kyrgyz language and literature) (term of study - 2 years)
  • Philology (Kyrgyz), (Turkish) (term of study - 2 years) (part-time, evening form of study - 2.5 years)
  • Linguistics (Master's degree) (term of study - 2 years)

Training of these specialties is carried out on a budgetary and contractual basis. Students are taught by highly qualified teachers-professors with high scientific and theoretical training, sufficient pedagogical experience. In addition, specialists from foreign countries were also involved in this work.
