Pedagogical Institute of Russian Language and Literature
By Resolution No. 488 of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the Pedagogical Institute of Russian Language and Literature (PIRYAL) was founded.

Abolished by Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic
"On the establishment of the State Institute of Languages and Humanities (GIaiGN)" and on its basis the State Institute of Languages and Humanities was created. Order of the Ministry of Public Education of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 208/1a of 17.06.1992 "On the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic of June 17, 1992 No. UP-201".

The State Institute of Languages and Humanities (SIHLH) was transformed by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 308 of 11.05.1994 "On the transformation of the State Institute of Languages and Humanities into the Bishkek Humanities University"

Named after academician Kusein Karasaev
Currently – Bishkek State University named after Academician Kusein Karasaev.
