The Institute of Continuous Education (ICE) was founded on January 21, 1999. Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor A.I. Musaev was at the forefront of its founding and development.

In 2012, due to the active introduction of distance learning technologies into the educational process, the Institute was renamed the Institute of Continuous and Distance Education (INDE).

In 2025, in order to expand the range of educational services and respond to the needs of the labor market, the Institute was renamed again and received the name: Institute of Continuous Distance Education, Retraining and Advanced Training (INDOPPK).

The Institute is a large structural division of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev.

Mission of the Institute — to ensure generally accessible, high-quality, and continuous professional development in a modern, competitive educational environment by offering flexible distance learning programs for higher education, professional retraining, and advanced training based on the latest innovative educational technologies.
