The Kusein Isaev Center for Social Research (CSR) is a research unit of the Bishkek State University named after Academician K. Karasaev and one of the first schools of social research in the Kyrgyz Republic in the post-Soviet period.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Social Research is to develop applied social research and expert-analytical activities aimed at formulating scientifically based decisions in the field of socio-economic and political development of Kyrgyz society and the state.
Areas of activity
- Applied sociological and political science research in various spheres of public life;
- Strategic project “Kyrgyz Barometer”: monitoring and evaluation of public opinion on issues of state development, socio-economic reforms, domestic and foreign policy;
- Expert and analytical activities: preparation of analytical reports, expert opinions, analytical notes and policy briefs on current issues of social development;
- Educational and research programs: lectures, trainings, seminars and master classes on methods of conducting sociological and socio-political research;
- Scientific and expert events: conferences, round tables and expert discussions on current issues of societal development.
Capabilities of the Central Information Center
Research team: 16 specialists (3 doctors of science, professors, 5 candidates of science, associate professors, 8 masters of sociology, political science and jurisprudence), as well as more than 100 students and postgraduates, participate in the work of the CIO;
Expert network: The CIO cooperates with representatives of the academic community, research organizations and professional associations, including more than 50 active members of the Sociological Association of Kyrgyzstan, attracted on a contractual basis;
Research infrastructure: The Center for Survey Research operates its own call center for conducting telephone flash surveys. The Center also utilizes modern digital research methods, including online surveys and combined data collection methods.
Partnership and cooperation
The Center for Information Security is open to cooperation with government agencies, international organizations, research centers, universities, and non-governmental organizations.
The Center for Information Security and Analysis (CIO) provides expert analytical and research services aimed at obtaining reliable data on socio-economic processes and preparing scientifically based recommendations for the development of effective management decisions.
