
Mission of the Central Institute of Information Technologies
The mission of the Center for Social Research is to develop applied social research and expert-analytical activities aimed at forming scientifically based decisions in the field of socio-economic and political development of society and the state.
Goals and objectives of the CIO
In accordance with the Regulation, the main objectives of the Central Information Center are:
- development of applied research in the field of sociological and political sciences, expert-analytical and consulting services;
- implementation of a strategic project to create a sustainable national system for monitoring and evaluating (long-term research) public opinion of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic – «Kyrgyz Barometer»;
- creation of a multifunctional base for strengthening the practical training of bachelors, masters, postgraduate students, doctoral students and young researchers in the fields of sociology and political science;
- transformation into a «think tank» (Think-Tank) in the medium term;
- involvement of faculty in applied research, data processing and analysis, and the preparation of high-quality scientific publications;
- Promoting the K. Karasaev BSU among the expert community, other analytical centers, government agencies, and public and international organizations.
To achieve this goal, the Central Information Center performs the following tasks (and provides services to interested parties):
• organizes and conducts sociological, socio-economic, political science and other types of social research in various spheres of society on a wide range of issues, including for interested parties on a commercial basis;
• conducts long-term monitoring and evaluation of public opinion in relation to socio-economic, political and other processes occurring in the state, region and world;
• provides expert analytical and consulting services to interested parties on the development of scientifically based management decisions, development programs and strategies, and forecasts;
• prepares analytical reports (reports, justifications, analytical notes, policy briefs, etc.) based on the collection and generalization of diverse sociological, political, socio-economic and other information;
• conducts training and educational events (lectures, trainings, master classes, seminars, webinars, etc.) on issues of organizing and conducting applied sociological, socio-economic, political science and other types of research;
• conducts scientific, practical and expert events (round tables, congresses, conferences, symposiums, etc.) on various social issues;
• creates and develops a sociological database and archives of public opinion polls, introduces modern digital research methods based on leading global experience;
• popularizes sociological and political science knowledge and research results in society through publicly available information channels (mass media, social media).
