On October 22, a large-scale cultural and educational project, the "Bazhov Film Marathon," took place at Bishkek State University named after K. Karasayev. It was organized with the support of the Bazhov Charitable Foundation (Russia) and the Ambassador of Russian Education and Science to the Kyrgyz Republic, G. Murzakhmedova. The event was part of the "Bazhov's Legacy: From the Urals to the Tien Shan" series.
The film marathon was attended by Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic K.A. Sadykov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Nadyrbekov, representatives of the Russian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo A.F. Zulkharneev, and university students and faculty.
BSU Rector, Professor Mirlan Dyldaev, emphasized that Pavel Bazhov's work resonates with the folk wisdom of Kyrgyz epics and promotes cultural rapprochement between peoples.
The central event was a screening of the film "Bazhov: Borrowed Time," featuring director Andrei Kim. The program also included an exhibition, literary and musical performances, and a roundtable discussion on the heroism and memory of the defenders of the Motherland.
According to Vice-Rector G. Murzakhmedova, the film marathon became a shining example of humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and made a significant contribution to strengthening friendship between the peoples.
