Visa support
Provides consulting and practical assistance to foreign students and teachers in preparing documents for obtaining Kyrgyz visas.
Main functions:
- Monitoring compliance with the legality of the stay of foreign citizens who have entered into a contract/agreement with the Bishkek State University named after Academician Kusein Karasaev for study or teaching.
- Processing invitations and entry visas for foreign delegations, teachers and students invited by the university individually or within the framework of bilateral Agreements.
- Registration of foreign passports or visas at the Public Service Centers (PSC) in Bishkek for foreign students/teachers, provided that they have a notarized consent from the landlord.
- Registration of study visas for foreign students, listeners, master's degree students, doctoral students, postgraduate students upon request and according to the documents provided by the deans' offices of the relevant faculties.
- Registration of a permit for attracting foreign labor to the Kyrgyz Republic and individual work permits for foreign teachers of BSU in the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Registration of work visas for foreign teachers working at BSU upon request and according to documents provided by the deans of the relevant faculties, except for volunteers of international organizations accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Consulting authorized representatives and interviewing foreign university students on the timely submission of documents for obtaining a study visa and on the rules of stay in Kyrgyzstan.

— State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic,
— Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic,
— The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic,
— The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic,
— The center for public service for planning, coordinating and improving joint activities with foreign teachers and students.
- Interaction with the Consular Services of the Embassies accredited in Kyrgyzstan on issues related to the study/work/internship of foreign students/teachers of BSU, studying and working respectively.
How can foreign citizens who intend to come to study at our university obtain a PRIMARY BSU study visa?
- A foreign citizen or his authorized representative located in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic applies with a written statement to the dean's office of the faculty where he has entered to study, and provides the international relations department with a full package of necessary documents for visa support:
- Report from the dean's office on the registration of an initial visa for 3 months;
- A certificate from the place of study;
- A photocopy of your international passport;
- Photo on a white background 3.5 x 4.5;
- Send to email address jabdyldabekova@bhu.kg a clear scan of the passport in PDF format and a scan of the photo in JPG format of at least 30 KB.
- Receipt of payment of state duty.
The commission's review period: from 14 to 25 calendar days.
How can foreign citizens who intend to come to work at our university obtain a PRIMARY BSU work visa?
- A foreign citizen located on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic applies with a written statement to the dean's office of the faculty where he intends to work and provides a full package of necessary documents for visa support:
- Report from the dean's office on the registration of an initial visa for 2 months;
- Personal statement;
- A photocopy of your international passport;
- Photo on a white background 3.5 x 4.5;
- Send to email address jabdyldabekova@bhu.kg a clear scan of the passport in PDF format and a scan of the photo in JPG format of at least 30 KB.
- Receipt of payment of state duty.
After receiving a work quota from the MTSOM KR, the dean's office of the relevant faculty provides all necessary documents to the International Relations Department of BSU.
Upon arrival, a foreign citizen is required to provide the original educational document.
After crossing the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic, you must, within 5 (five) calendar days from the moment of arrival in Bishkek, register at your actual place of residence or submit documents for registration to the consular sector of the International Relations Department (IRD) of BSU (office 213 of the main building).
To complete the registration The following documents must be provided:
- Notarized consent of the landlord for temporary registration;
- passport;
- receipt of payment of state duty.
Registration upon arrival is mandatory for all foreign citizens who arrive to study/work at BSU.
How to extend a study/work visa for a foreign student, undergraduate, graduate student, or teacher of BSU residing in the Kyrgyz Republic?
Study visas are extended for a period of no more than 1 (one) academic year with the possibility of annual extension for a total period not exceeding 5 years, or the duration of the academic course at a specific educational institution.
To extend a student visa The following documents must be provided:
- report from the faculty dean's office;
- a certificate from the place of study;
- agreement between BSU and the student;
- valid international passport;
- photograph 3.5 x 4.5;
- registration card;
- receipt of payment of state duty.
To extend a work visa The following documents must be provided:
- report from the faculty dean's office;
- certificate from place of work;
- higher education diploma with a notarized translation;
- valid international passport;
- medical certificate for HIV/AIDS;
- photograph 3.5 x 4.5;
- registration card;
- work permit;
- receipt of payment of state duty.
ATTENTION!!!!
For foreign citizens working at BSU, in order to obtain a work visa it is necessary to obtain a work permit, except for citizen volunteers of accredited international organizations
Within the framework of the Agreement on visa-free movement of citizens of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States across the territory of its members, signed on October 9, 1992 in Bishkek, a visa-free regime applies to citizens, holders of all categories of national passports:
