From January 12 to 18, 2026, the coordinator of international educational programs and projects of Bishkek State University, Rai kyzy Rakhat, was on a working visit to the University of Leeds (United Kingdom).
The working visit was organized as part of the international project Accelerating English Language Learning. During the visit, Rai kyzy Rakhat presented the module "Promoting Inclusion through Gender-Aware Pedagogy in Second Language Writing Assessment" to faculty at the University of Leeds. The presentation explored in detail the application of gender-sensitive pedagogy in second language writing assessment, ensuring inclusivity, and utilizing modern assessment methods.
Following the discussion, the proposed module received high praise and support from the University of Leeds academic community. Therefore, a two-day seminar based on this module is planned for Bishkek State University graduate students in the near future.
It should be noted that the seminar will be organized with the support of the British Consulate in the Kyrgyz Republic. The event aims to improve the quality of English language teaching, promote inclusive education principles, and integrate international academic experience.
This visit makes a significant contribution to strengthening academic cooperation between Bishkek State University and the University of Leeds, and also facilitates the exchange of educational experience within the framework of international projects.
