In December 2025, Bishkek State University was included in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, placing 1,740th worldwide and 7th among higher education institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Participation in the UI GreenMetric ranking confirms the University’s commitment to the principles of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and the integration of green technologies into its academic, research, and administrative activities.
This achievement is the result of systematic efforts aimed at developing environmentally friendly infrastructure, improving energy efficiency, ensuring responsible resource management, and fostering environmental awareness among students and staff.
An important role in advancing sustainability initiatives is played by international Erasmus+ projects, including:
“Green Agreements in Central Asian Universities”;
“Green and Digital Universities of Kyrgyzstan.”
The implementation of these projects promotes the adoption of modern environmental standards, digital solutions, and innovative management approaches, strengthening the university's position in the international academic community.
Bishkek State University will continue its consistent work to implement sustainable development principles and expand international cooperation in the field of green technologies.
