On March 5, 2026, an expert seminar-training on the topic was held at the Bishkek State University named after Academician K. Karasaev
«"Transition to a 12-year school education system: modern approaches and development prospects.".
The event was held as part of the implementation of the state policy of modernizing the education system of the Kyrgyz Republic and introducing a 12-year school education model.
The seminar brought together representatives of state education authorities, national experts in educational reform, heads of relevant departments, representatives of the scientific and academic community, and faculty from pedagogical universities.
The event was attended by specialists and experts:

— departments of monitoring the quality of education, licensing and accreditation
— Republican Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Teaching Staff
- national projects for reforming school education
— the country's leading higher education institutions
The discussion focused on key areas of transformation of the educational system in the context of the transition to 12-year education.
The experts reviewed:
— conceptual foundations and philosophy of 12-year education;
— updating state educational standards;
— synchronization of standards of secondary and higher pedagogical education;
— international experience in training teaching staff;
— the role of the teacher in the implementation of educational reform.
Particular attention was paid to the transformation of the teaching staff training system, since the transition to a new model of school education requires updating educational programs, teaching methods, and the professional competencies of future teachers.
The seminar was held in the BSU cinema hall. Participants from Bishkek participated in the seminar offline and online for regional participants. This ensured broad participation from specialists and experts from various educational institutions.
The event served as an expert platform for professional discussion of key areas of education system reform and coordination of interactions between government agencies, the scientific community, and educational organizations in the context of the Kyrgyz Republic's transition to a 12-year school system.
