From March 2 to 5, 2026, Bishkek State University named after Academician K. Karasaev hosted Chinese Culture Week, timed to coincide with the Spring Festival celebrations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dean of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty G.T. Botokanova, Director of the Confucius Institute on the Chinese side Du Hua, Deputy Dean N.A. Sekieva, Head of the Chinese Language Department Ainura Kenesh, faculty, and students. During the event, the Confucius Institute donated teaching materials to the faculty.
During the week, various cultural and educational events were organized, including the presentation of certificates to students for completing a trial Chinese language test, master classes in Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, and the preparation of traditional Chinese dumplings.
The annual quiz "China Through My Eyes" (我眼中的中国) also took place, featuring first-year students. Participants demonstrated their knowledge of Chinese culture, history, geography, and language.
The events facilitated students' deeper understanding of China's culture, traditions, and history, and increased their interest in learning Chinese.
