Department of Ecology and Nature Management of the Faculty of Economics and Management

The Department of Ecology and Nature Management was organized as a service department for all faculties of BSU in the natural sciences and mathematics block in the discipline "Ecology", KPV (there is a block) and trains qualified specialists in the direction of "Ecology and Nature Management" code 520800 bachelor (4 years) and master's degree in the direction of "Ecology and Nature Management" 2 years.

The main goal of the department - this is an improvement in the quality of the educational process, in which the teaching staff sets several tasks: this is an increase in the professional level of students,

competencies, preparation of electronic educational assignments, as well as monitoring of final courses. 

The department consists of: 1 professor, 2 candidates of sciences in the field of "Geoecology", 4 senior lecturers, 3 lecturers and postgraduate students of the department in the field of "Geoecology". The qualitative composition of the department, according to the established requirement, fully meets the requirements. The material and technical base of the department: an educational and methodological office, an environmental laboratory, 2 computer classes connected to the Internet and a reading room. 

        Description of the main areas of training specialists:

The department trains specialists in accordance with international educational standards. 

Training is provided on a contract basis.

Form of study – full-time bachelor’s degree, full-time master’s degree.

  • During the functioning of the Department of E and P, the educational potential was concentrated and aimed at training highly qualified bachelor's and master's degree students in the field of ecology and nature management.
  • Students actively participate in the social life of the faculty and department. Various competitions and festive events are successfully held. The department has an environmental club "Aalam", which closely coordinates joint activities to improve the education and development of students of the faculty.

Our students undergo introductory practice in the Chui region (1st year), special educational field practice in the Issyk-Kul region (2nd year), as well as in the State Committee on Ecology and Climate of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety under the State Committee on Ecology and Climate (3-4 years).

Directions and specialties

The Department of Ecology and Nature Management of the Faculty of Ecology and Management of Bishkek State University trains specialists in the direction of "Ecology and Nature Management" 520800, profile "environmental management" due to the fact that at present the contradiction between human society and the environment has reached a scale at which there is a real danger of destruction of the planet. This gives particular relevance to the issues of improving environmental management systems at industrial enterprises. In this regard, training personnel in the field of environmental management in Kyrgyzstan is a popular area. Knowledge and consideration of environmental problems associated with the development of industrial production, presentation of the regulatory framework for environmental management in industry, study of ways to improve the efficiency of environmental activities at industrial facilities is the basis for training specialists in this field.

The scope of activities of graduates in the field of "Ecology and Nature Management" profile environmental management:

Manager in design and survey, production, research institutes, bureaus, firms and others; 

Manager of an organization, institution and enterprise related to technological aspects of environmental protection and environmental safety; 

Management of natural resources in environmental protection agencies and other environmental protection departments and institutions.

Research topic: Ecological and economic aspects of sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Department of Ecology and Nature Management is actively working on the section "Ecological and Economic Problems of the Transition Period of the Kyrgyz Republic". The employees of the department conduct research annually: on the problems of rational use and assessment of water, land, forest resources, the problems of anthropogenic load on the natural environment and their components, socio-economic problems and the state of sustainable environmental development of Kyrgyzstan are studied. The research is conducted in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
