Program description: The program forms ideas about the patterns and principles of the functioning of the mass media system, i.e. an understanding of the role of the media as the most important social institution, the range of their functions, the characteristics of mass media and mass information activities in the context of the needs of society and the interests of the audience. Students get acquainted with the main stages of the history of world and Russian literature and journalism and understand the importance of their experience for the practice of modern media. Students distinguish between the specifics of the main areas of journalistic work (news, investigative, problem-analytical, artistic, journalistic, "entertainment", etc.). They know the basics of international humanitarian law, copyright in the media, legal norms governing the functioning of the media, including the principles of journalistic ethics, understand the meaning of the social responsibility of journalism and a journalist in society the importance of information security of society. Graduates work as correspondents, editors, proofreaders, and analysts in media of any format, in entertainment, business, and information publications.

Program description: The program develops knowledge and skills in the field of development, implementation and improvement of technological processes of publishing; editing of manuscripts; preparation for publication of text and graphic material; expertise related to the implementation, control and implementation of copyrights. Students gain in-depth knowledge of national and world culture, economic needs, and the ability to shape the global information space and quickly adapt to changes and developments in the socio-cultural sphere. They also acquire the skills to identify the main trends in the development of the modern publishing business, create and promote products from the publisher to the end user, as well as professional etiquette, which allows them to establish communication links with authors of works, business partners, representatives of government agencies and public organizations. Graduates work in publishing houses, editorial offices of newspapers, magazines, radio, television, press centers and press services, and other structures operating in the information space.

Students are able to independently formulate relevant and promising research problems in journalism and solve them using modern methodologies and technologies. Students develop the ability to search for all sources, evaluate them, and apply them appropriately to solve public relations problems. Graduates implement information and propaganda campaigns and events. Graduates work in print departments, media outlets, press centers, press services, public relations departments, public relations centers, and communications agencies.
