On May 24, 2025, the 28th Central Asian Japanese Oratory Competition among students was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan) at Narxoz University. The event was organized by the Association of Japanese Language Teachers of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The competition annually brings together students from Central Asian countries — Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan — who study Japanese. This year, 18 students took part, demonstrating a high level of language proficiency and public speaking skills.
Kyrgyzstan was represented on the international stage by students from Bishkek State University who passed the selection at the Republican Competition of Public Speaking in Japanese:
1. Karagulova Miraida - 3rd year student, International Relations program, Faculty of Oriental Studies and International Relations (FVMO);
2. Zhumakov Azim - 3rd year student, International Relations department, Faculty of Higher and Lower Mathematical Relations;
3. Sarseitov Mukhamed-Ali - 2nd year student, Information Technology department, Faculty of Higher Mathematics and International Relations.
Following the competition, Karagulova Miraida took the honorable 5th place, demonstrating excellent preparation and a high level of proficiency in Japanese.
