On February 20, an open lecture on sustainable development and green transformation in Kyrgyzstan was held at K. Karasaev Bishkek State University. The event, organized within the framework of the international GDCAU project, brought together students interested in ecological innovations, energy efficiency, and modern green technologies.
The lecture featured UNISON Group expert Zhanybek Kulumbeotov, who emphasized that the transition to a green economy is not only a current trend but also a vital step for the country.
“The rise in global temperatures, increasing CO₂ emissions, water scarcity, drought, soil degradation, and air pollution require active measures and the implementation of sustainable solutions in the country,” noted Zhanybek Kulumbeotov.
The lecture covered key topics, including:
• Implementation of green technologies in Kyrgyzstan
• Energy efficiency in buildings and industrial facilities
• Water conservation and resource-efficient solutions
• Green financing and opportunities for the private and public sectors
• Prospects for developing a circular economy
The expert highlighted that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential for low-carbon solutions. Already implemented projects demonstrate tangible results, including reduced energy consumption, decreased CO₂ emissions, and efficient water resource management.
