Department of Economic Programs and Management, Faculty of Economics and Finance
The Department of Economic Programs and Management is a structural educational, methodological and scientific division of Bishkek State University, carrying out educational, educational, methodological and scientific research activities, extracurricular work among students, in the direction of Business Informatics, Business Management and Economics.
The purpose of creating "EPiU" is to train highly qualified specialists whose professional activities are carried out in the management sector, analytical, consulting, innovative activities in the field of ICT, strategic development, finance, banking.
The mission of the Department of EPiU is to prepare highly qualified bachelors in the field of management, innovative activities in the field of ICT, analytical, as well as to prepare graduates to create and develop their own business projects and other divisions of the management apparatus of companies, as well as to ensure the full disclosure of scientific and pedagogical abilities of each teacher of the department. The teachers of the department are actively engaged in research work, make reports at inter-university scientific and practical conferences, publish textbooks, monographs, publish scientific articles in journals of the Kyrgyz Republic and countries of the near and far abroad.
Researcherwhat kind of work
Pedagogical activity is multifaceted, complex, and labor-intensive. There are no unchanging elements in a teacher's work: the field of knowledge, the foundations of which the teacher teaches, is constantly developing, the student body changes, and pedagogical science is enriched. All this requires a constant search for the most important content, appropriate forms, methods, and means of teaching, and effective ways of cooperation in the learning process.

At the Department of Economic Programs and Management, the research work of teachers is carried out in accordance with the plan of research work of the department. The topic of the department's research work: "Strategic planning in the context of globalization and economic instability" Each teacher contributes to the development of the scientific potential of the department by taking various advanced training courses, publishing scientific articles, teaching aids, participating in conferences and round tables devoted to economic problems. Almost all teachers, if they do not have an academic degree, are postgraduate students and are actively working on a dissertation. Discussions and debates held at theoretical and methodological seminars are of great help in improving the scientific work of the department. At present, the department has become one of the leading departments in the preparation and defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations, preparing and releasing postgraduate and doctoral students, and also acting as a leading organization of applicants.
Research work of students
Research work of students is one of the most important means of improving the quality of training of personnel with higher education, capable of applying the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in practice. Involving students in research work allows using their creative and intellectual potential to solve urgent problems of modern science.


The main objectives of students' research work are:
— mastering the methods of scientific knowledge, in-depth and creative assimilation of educational material;
— training in methods and means of independently solving scientific and technical problems and skills of working in scientific teams; familiarization with methods of organizing their work;
— development of students’ ability to competently design and present scientific results carried out within the framework of the activities of scientific structures.
To realize and develop the research potential of students studying in the fields of "economics", "business informatics", "business management", various events are held at the department.
Every year the department conducts and prepares students for:
- scientific and practical conferences;
- competition for the best student research paper;
- round tables;
- forums;
- trainings;
- lectures with the participation of favored employers;
- international scientific and student conferences, etc.

All courses taught at the Department of Economic Programs and Management are provided with methodological materials of the UMKD, syllabuses, and work programs. The teaching staff of the department is actively working on creating textbooks, teaching aids, and methodological manuals on economic disciplines.
Practice
One of the main areas of work of the department is active involvement of students in future professional activity, formation of professional competencies. Heads of practices and teaching staff of the department assist students in finding places of practice and internships, as well as temporary and permanent work. They help conduct trainings and career guidance for students, assist employers in filling vacancies with qualified specialists from among students and graduates of the Department of Economic Programs and Management.


1. Educational and introductory, industrial and pre-qualification practice, summer internships. Internships and practices provide an opportunity to assess the professional abilities and capabilities of a student in the field of practical aspects of work and official duties of specialists in the field of economics; to correct and develop professional skills; to gain experience in professional, organizational and educational activities; familiarization with the modern conditions of business enterprises; use of the latest technologies in practical activities; the ability to navigate and find the best solution in existing non-traditional cases; to determine the topics of coursework and qualification papers in relevant areas.
2. Meeting with employers and other events.
Meetings and events are an opportunity to convey information about the company, the benefits of working there and the terms of employment to the target audience; to conduct a survey of students.
