Department of Chinese Philology 

Department of Chinese Philology was established by Order No. 3 of 29.10.2009 and is a structural subdivision of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty (KCF) of BSU named after K. Karasaev, implementing educational, extracurricular, educational-methodical and research activities among students in the specialty: "Translation and Translation Studies" and "Linguistics". Currently, the department is headed by Sabyrova Zarina Isabaevna.

Mission of the Department — to teach the Chinese language at a high scientific and theoretical level and to train specialists in accordance with global language requirements.

The purpose of the department – provide theoretical and practical training to students in accordance with state and international standards.

The main tasks of the department:

  • developing students' skills in lively conversational speech in Chinese;
  • familiarization with typical speech situations in Chinese, with their grammatical and lexical features;
  • acquisition of oral speech and development of pronunciation skills;
  • mastering the rules of speech etiquette of another country;
  • practical mastery of colloquial and everyday speech and the language of the specialty and the ability to independently work with specialized literature in Chinese in order to obtain professional information, familiarize oneself with new technologies, and trends in the development of tourism.

The Department of Chinese Philology unites the faculty (professors, acting associate professors, senior teachers, teachers), providing teaching at the proper scientific-theoretical, methodological and organizational level of the disciplines assigned to the department and conducting research and educational-methodical work. Our teachers annually take advanced training courses in the PRC, where they can improve their knowledge and exchange experiences in teaching methods.
