Research work / Research activities of students
Research works:
At the department, research work is an important part of the educational process. These works allow students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical research, forming the skills of research activities. The research work of students is aimed at solving current problems in the field of pedagogy, psychology and social pedagogy, which, in turn, is intended to improve work with children and the educational process.
The main goal of research work is to help students master the methods and methodology of independent research, develop skills in analyzing pedagogical and psychological situations. In their research, students study the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of children, their social and emotional development, gaining experience in presenting new proposals in the field of education.
In addition, as a result of research work, students form their scientific point of view, learn to analyze empirical data and systematically develop practical and theoretical materials. This process contributes to the future professional activities of students and helps to make a contribution to the scientific field.
Objectives for the development of the department’s research work:
The organization of the department's research work (RW) is based on the concept of developing the research activities of the teaching staff and is aimed at improving the quality of graduates at all levels of education. The results of research work and the knowledge obtained in the process of their implementation are used in the development of new courses and programs, as well as in the preparation of textbooks.
The faculty of the department conducts scientific research on the most pressing topics of modern education.
Research work of students / Educational and research activities of students:
Participation of students in research work is a mandatory element of training future specialists. Research activities of students are an effective tool for improving the quality of training specialists and are closely linked to the educational process.
The main organizational forms of students’ research work at the department:

Practice
Educational practice of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology
The educational practice of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology provides students with the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practical experience. The main goal of the educational practice is to prepare students for pedagogical and psychological activities, to form their practical skills, to develop the ability to effectively and sustainably manage various situations in the educational process. This practice provides students with the opportunity to acquire the necessary competencies to work in their profession.

Adaptation and pedagogical practice - 5th semester (2 weeks);

Historical portrait of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology
The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology was founded in 1979 at the Frunze Pedagogical Institute under the faculty of "Russian Language and Literature". It was headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukash Rustavletovich Baltabaev (1979-1982).
Later, the department was headed by candidates of pedagogical sciences, associate professors: Maria Abdykerimova, Mikhail Zhulenkov, Kashkar Dzhumabaev, as well as doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Ryskeldi Toksonbaev. Currently, the department is headed by candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Mira Alymbekovna Muratalieva.
The department employed prominent scientists, educators and psychologists of Kyrgyzstan, such as Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences V.M. Grebennikov; Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences L.I. Kubatieva; Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Z.V. Andreeva; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor M.G. Zhulenkov; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor I.R. Khalitova; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Mashkevich; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor V.A. Nuzhniy; as well as experienced teachers K.T. Tulegenov, A.G. Tynystanova, T.Zh. Zhumagulov and others. In 2009, the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology began its professional educational, scientific, educational and career guidance activities under the auspices of the Faculty of Slavic Studies of the Belarusian State University named after K. Karasayev. Since 2021, the department has been operating on the basis of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev.
The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology includes prominent scientists, educators and psychologists of Kyrgyzstan. Among them are Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Grebennikov V.M.; Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences L.I. Kubatieva; Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Andreeva Z.V.; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Zhulenkov M.G.; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Khalitova I.R.; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Mashkevich A.A.; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nuzhniy V.A.; as well as senior teachers Tulegenov K.T., Tynystanova A.G., Zhumagulov T.Zh. and others.
In 2009, the department carried out its professional training, scientific activities and career guidance work under the auspices of the Faculty of Slavic Studies of the Belarusian State University named after K. Karasaev.
Since 2021, the department has been operating on the basis of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev.
The purpose of the department — development of scientifically based pedagogical and psychological methods in the process of education and upbringing, their application in practice, as well as training of qualified teachers and psychologists.
The main activity of the department is teaching pedagogy and psychology to students of Bishkek State University, as well as training highly qualified specialists in psychological and pedagogical disciplines. The department is focused on training excellent specialists in the profiles of "Social Pedagogy", "Social Pedagogy and Psychology", "Speech Therapy", corresponding to the requirements of the state in the future.
Research activities of the department:
Scientific topic of the department: Currently, the staff of the department are conducting a study on the topic of "Pedagogical competencies of the 21st century: strategies for tolerant education and upbringing". The results of scientific research are presented at international scientific and practical conferences, seminars and trainings. Both young researchers from Kyrgyzstan and foreign colleagues from Kazakhstan, Germany and Russia actively participate in these events.
In the period from 2020 to 2024, the department's teachers published 87 articles in various scientific journals and collections of scientific and practical conferences, of which 30 works were published in scientific journals included in the RINS.
Department also trains postgraduate and master's students in the field of pedagogy: general pedagogy, history of pedagogy and education, and social pedagogy. Over the past three years, about 60 postgraduate students have completed their studies at the department, of which 20 defended their candidate dissertations.
The department operates the center "Pedagogical mastery and advanced training of education workers", where systematic trainings are conducted in psychological and pedagogical areas for teachers, social educators of secondary schools, master's students and postgraduates in rehabilitation centers.
One of the most important aspects of professional development is the exchange of experience and development of ideas with colleagues from other universities. The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology pays great attention to international cooperation within the framework of agreements concluded with universities in Russia and Kazakhstan.
At present, the department's partners are: Moscow State Linguistic University, Bashkir State University named after M. Akmulla, Zhezkazgan University named after O.A. Baikonurov, Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers in Moscow, and Kazakh State Pedagogical University for Girls in Almaty.
Such cooperation facilitates the exchange of best practices, the introduction of new educational technologies and methods, and the strengthening of scientific ties between educational institutions.

Features of the curriculum (for speech therapist, social worker, psychologist):
In the educational process, much attention is paid to scientific research activities. Students master research skills, methods of modeling pedagogical and psychological situations, speech therapy correction activities and methods of assistance based on social pedagogy. They also gain practical experience in providing psychological, pedagogical and social support to children, taking into account their individual characteristics.
