Scientific library

The main task of the scientific library is:

1. Formation of a library collection of educational literature on traditional and electronic media.
2. Providing access to the resources of the global information space.
3. Creating conditions for readers to work with educational information.

Unified library collection consists of various types of domestic and foreign publications (scientific, educational, fiction, etc.), audiovisual and electronic documents.

The reading rooms offer open-access textbooks. Loan books are available for home borrowing. The library collections of the following faculties—the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Culture and Law, the Faculty of Life and Information Systems, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Radioelectronics, and the Faculty of Higher Methods of Interaction—are located in the main building of BSU; the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Management, and the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies are located in Building No. 2; and the Faculty of Economics and the College are located in Building No. 3. The following types of periodicals are available in the general reading room of the main building: 20 newspapers, 4 magazines, and 1,600 reference books.

The library develops and supports interest in books and reading through exhibitions, reviews, and thematic viewings; it also hosts events aimed at improving students' general cultural awareness.

Students have access to a convenient and efficient information search system through an electronic catalog system where they can obtain information about books and articles published in newspapers and magazines.

The library's book collection includes 258,876 copies of educational, scientific and fiction literature in Kyrgyz, Russian and foreign languages.

The main literature is reflected in the Electronic Catalogue of the Library, which contains 49,650 thousand book descriptions (recording has been maintained since 2003).

• Electronic Library System "University Library ONLINE"« https://biblioclub.ruAccess to the University Library Online Electronic Library System (ELS) has been open since November 20, 2019. This resource contains textbooks, teaching aids, monographs, periodicals, reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, video and audio materials, and illustrated editions on art and fiction. The ELS "University Library Online" provides access to over 100,000 publications across all fields of study. More than 400 publishers represented in the ELS provide students with publications on both core and specialized subjects. Readers can print individual pages of required books and journals.
  To register users on the website http://biblioclub.ru you must:
  1. Get a personal user page (account) of BSU.
  2. Get a password and login to enter the site.
  3. A reader can enter the University Library from any location.
• In open archives, search is carried out on the website kyrlibnet.kg.
• Information on electronic resources for dissertations and dissertations can be found on the website of the A. Osmonov National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic: nlkr.gov.kg.
• The electronic catalogue of the BSU National Library, reference books and encyclopedias, magazines and newspapers are located in the reading room of the main building.

The library is open from 8.00 to 17.00.

The last Wednesday of the month is a cleaning day.
