Research is one of the most important activities of the University's faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Research ensures the continuous improvement of the educational process based on fundamental and applied research in existing areas of training and the introduction of modern methods and pedagogical technologies into educational activities. The main objectives of the research work (R&D) carried out at BSU:

— conducting relevant scientific research;

— enrichment of the educational process with the results of the latest scientific research;

— practical familiarization of students and the university’s faculty with the organization of scientific research and their involvement in the implementation of scientific research work;

— improving the scientific qualifications of the teaching staff;

— training of scientific and pedagogical personnel;

— writing and preparing textbooks, teaching aids, monographs, scientific articles and reports for publication;

— reviewing textbooks, teaching aids, monographs, scientific articles and reports;

— editing textbooks, teaching aids, monographs, scientific articles and reports;

— management of student scientific societies;

— information support for the university library;

— cooperation with scientific publications of the country.

Main areas of research work:

-development of scientific and theoretical problems;

- solving the most pressing problems in the field of economics, social and humanitarian sciences, information technology, as well as in the field of domestic and foreign science;

- study and generalization of the research experience of other universities, research institutions and organizations;

- publication of textbooks and teaching aids;

-carrying out research work of a scientific and methodological nature.

To ensure scientific research work, the University:

— provides the necessary information support for research and development;

— carries out the preparation and publication of monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, collections of scientific papers, and other scientific publications;

— organizes international, regional, and inter-university conferences and seminars at the University;

- ensures the effective functioning of research and development work.

Internet resources and other multimedia sources are actively used.

The University's student environment provides a foundation for research activities. Research and methodological work were carried out in accordance with comprehensive and individual research topics developed by the University's departments and individual faculty members, as well as in pursuit of improving the university's educational and training activities.

Annual planning, implementation and summarizing of the results of research work are reflected in the individual plans of each teacher and are summarized in the plans and reports of departments and faculties for this type of activity.

Organization of research work at BSU:

BSU is involved in the practical implementation of its research results and promotes the achievements of Russian science, technology, and culture. It conducts scientific research by coordinating research plans, organizing joint research projects, and jointly hosting scientific conferences.

BSU research work is carried out in accordance with a plan reviewed by the University Academic Council and approved by the Rector.

The university's research plans are developed with the participation of faculties and departments. Research work at the University is conducted by professors, associate professors, lecturers, and others.

The head of the department and the dean of the faculty are responsible for the implementation of the research plan of the department and faculty.

Heads of departments submit reports on research projects to the Vice-Rector for Research.

The university publishes scientific papers and collections of reports from scientific conferences.
